Future, Drawn after the Dreams of North and South Korea Children I have often been told a story about the undivided Korean peninsula by my elders during my child days in Korea. I cannot forget their twinkling eyes in the hope of reunion with their lost friends and family members. The ideologies that command the rest part of the world and divide the Korean peninsulaas well, have lost their power a lot during last fifty years. I believe the first step for reunification is broadened the mutual understanding. And that understanding couldbe broadened gradually by sharing future through the innocent eyes of the children. ‘100,000 Dreams’ has been planned in the hope of peaceful future of Korea and other countries in dispute. We could travel together to the future of infinite possibility through a hundred thousand dreams of as many children. I don’t expect that ‘100,000 Dreams’ will make the dream of reunification come true at once. But I just hope this exhibition could bridge the individuals in misunderstanding, family members in distant places through the participation of the children of the world. In spite of the months of waiting, I couldn’t get fifty thousand North Korean children’s dreams. In ‘100,000 Dreams’ of this time, fifty thousand South Korean children’s dreams will wait the time when they could meet the North Korean children’s dreams with blank wall of silence. We will try however in the next ‘100,000 Dreams’ exhibition we could get the North Korean children’s dreams.
