Tom ANHOLT

Tom Anholt’s paintings concurrently feature Modernism and Persian art. He graduated from Chelsea College of Arts with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2010. Later he was inspired by the major masters from Modernism era including Paul Klee, Lyonel Feininger, Die Brücke and Der Blaue Reither. Recently, Anholt is bringing an Iranian artwork genre called ‘Persian Miniature’ into his oeuvre. The artist explained his art practice as similar to constantly chasing a ball of passion, fear, and everything else that inspires him.

Tom Anholt was born in Bath, England in 1987, to an Irish mother and a Persian-Jewish father. His international family background is relevant to his work indicating cultural hybridism between Europe and Middle-East. He moved to Berlin after graduating Chelsea College of Arts with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in London. Last year, He had a solo exhibition at Kunstverein, Ulm, Germany, and participated in a group exhibition at Saatchi Gallery, London. Currently, the artist is actively engaged in various exhibitions mainly in Germany, Nothern Europe and America.
